WWTP Agua Prieta: Second Largest Operative Wastewater Treatment Plant in LATAM

Introduction

“Agua Prieta” treats 67% of the wastewater from the Guadalajara metropolitan area, equivalent to 3.5 million people, under a BOT scheme that considers the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of the project for 20 years.

The main processes include: pretreatment, primary treatment, biological treatment, sludge treatment, anaerobic digestion, sludge dewatering and cogeneration with biogas for the production of electrical energy and heat recovery
