Infrastructure Solutions, S.A. de C.V., a leader in water and energy infrastructure, is proud to announce the appointment of Fernando Tovar as its new CEO. With over 25 years of experience in the energy sector, Fernando joins in leading the company’s growth and consolidation strategy, strengthening its position as a benchmark in the infrastructure and sustainable development industry.

    Fernando Tovar has been a key figure in the transformation of various energy companies worldwide. He has held leadership roles in regions such as Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Central America, South America, and Mexico. His experience includes serving as CEO of companies in Mexico that develop and operate large-scale thermal, wind, and solar power generation plants, as well as gas transportation systems, natural gas distribution, and natural gas regasification services.

    His focus on innovation and strategic vision has been fundamental to the consolidation of key energy projects for our country.

    Fernando Tovar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from Yale University, a Master’s in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, and a Ph.D. in Law from Harvard Law School, which supports his multidisciplinary approach to strategic decision-making.

    En relación con la columna de opinión “La Cuarta Transformación” de Darío Celis, con titular “Blackstone, GE, Mitsui y Actis evaluán salir de México”, publicada el 30 de septiembre de 2020 en El Financiero, queremos comunicar que la información divulgada sobre la compañía Mitsui & Co., Ltd. es incorrecta. 

    Primeramente, Mitsui & Co., Ltd. tiene larga historia en México, su presencia remonta al año de 1913 cuando la organización antigua de Mitsui & Co., Ltd. inició sus actividades de negocio en el país. Actualmente Mitsui & Co., Ltd. tiene un total de 40 compañías afiliadas en México en los sectores de minerales, hierro y acero, infraestructura, movilidad, alimentos, agricultura y químicos. En particular, la compañía tiene fuerte presencia en el sector eléctrico mexicano, donde tiene participación y gestiona activos de generación de electricidad de un total de 3.3GW, a través de 6 centrales de ciclo combinado, 2 parques eólicos y 1 un parque solar, a diferencia de lo expresado erróneamente en la columna antes mencionada.

    Adicionalmente, contrario a lo expresado el día de hoy en El Financiero, Mitsui & Co., Ltd. tiene un fuerte compromiso con el sector eléctrico de México y reitera su participación tanto en la generación de electricidad a gran escala, la generación distribuida, la comercialización de electricidad a usuarios calificados, así como servicios a generadores en el mercado eléctrico mexicano. Es incorrecto que Mitsui & Co., Ltd. tenga dudas sobre su permanencia en México por lo que reitera su compromiso en el país.  

    De la manera más atenta, considerando el Derecho de Réplica, solicitamos que sea publicada la presente aclaración en los mismos espacios en que se publicó la columna original y a la mayor brevedad posible a fin de esclarecer la información incorrecta y así evitar perjuicios a Mitsui & Co., Ltd. y sus compañías afiliadas.
